The daughter of a renowned photographer journeys into the city – and back into recollections of a life lived in the shadow of an artistic, itinerant parent. A beautiful melding of language and visuals from a current master of the short form story. Wendy Erskine lives in Belfast. Her debut collection, Sweet Home, was published by The Stinging Fly Press in Sept 2018 and has been translated into Italian and Arabic and optioned for TV. It won the 2020 Butler Literary Award, was shortlisted for the Edge Hill Prize 2019 and longlisted for the Gordon Burn Prize 2019. Wendy’s second collection of stories, Dance Move, was published in February 2022.

Ration Books took shape in 2019 by the author Ben Myers and his faithful hound Cally.

They both considered that words change with their setting.

To deny this is to deny the changing tastes of the same apple when scrumped, sliced, peeled or eaten straight from the tree.
