No Alibis Press presents an evening of conversation & readings with Joanna Walsh and Gail McConnell. Chaired by Emma Warnock.
Joanna Walsh is the author of seven books, most recently a novel in essays Break.Up (Semiotext(e), 2018) and a digital novella Seed (Visual Editions/Google Creative Lab, 2017), available at seed-story.com. Her writing has appeared in numerous publications, including Granta, Tate, the London Review of Books, The White Review, The Stinging Fly and gorse. Her short story ‘Fine’ was published in Still Worlds Turning, an anthology of new short fiction published by No Alibis Press in 2019. Her current projects include Critical Acts an ‘online hub for digital creative-criticism’ (https://beyondcriticism.net/).
Gail McConnell has published two poetry pamphlets, Fourteen (Green Bottle Press, 2018) and Fothermather (Ink Sweat & Tears, 2019). Her poetry has appeared in Poetry Review, PN Review, Virginia Quarterly Review, The Manchester Review and The Tangerine. She is a lecturer in English at Queen’s University, Belfast where her research interests are Irish and British poetry; the politics of form; and the relationship between violence, artistic practice and literary reception. McConnell’s monograph Northern Irish Poetry and Theology was published by Palgrave in 2014.
